Peas Kofta Pulao

Ingredients:

For Kofta:
  • Minced Meat - 1/2 kg
  • Garlic paste - 1/2 tsp
  • Cumin Powder  - 1/2 tsp
  • Coriander Powder - 1/2 tsp, roasted
  • Black Pepper Powder - a pinch
  • Green Chillies - 4, finely chopped and crushed
  • Coriander Leaves - 1 small bunch
  • Salt - to taste
For Rice:
  • Rice - 2 cups, soaked for 30 minutes
  • Peas - 1/4 cup, half boiled
  • Green Chilli - 1
  • Onion - 1 finely sliced
  • Oil/ Ghee - 4 tbsp
  • Bay Leaf - 2
  • Salt - to taste
  • Coriander leaves for garnishing
Method:
  • Mix all the ingredients required for the koftas and make into balls and refrigerate for about 30 minutes
  • Shallow fry them in a very little oil in a non-stick pan for a very few minutes just to give them shape and keep aside
  • In a pot heat oil/ghee, add green chilli and bay leaf
  • Add the onions and fry them till translucent. Remove half of it for garnishing later
  • Add the meat balls and the peas, fry for few minutes
  • Add the drained rice and mix
  • Add water and salt
  • Stir occasionally and cook till rice is done
  • Garnish with coriander leaves and serve
